Rougham Primary School has a strong connection with our parish church, St. Mary’s.
Rev Julia is a very important member of our school family. She is one of our Foundation Governors, leads Collective Worship in school weekly and helps us with RE lessons in church – baptism, Holy Communion and even a wedding!

We visit the church weekly for Collective Worship with Rev Sarah, and we hold our Harvest, Christmas and Easter services in the church, which our parents and carers are also invited to.
When we come into church, we love to see our prayers and reflections being displayed, and we have a wonderful time exploring the Prayer Spaces in the church, which Bury Christian Youth set up each year.

At the Remembrance Service we lay a poppy wreath from the school at the War Memorial, and in Advent we make an Advent Wreath for the church to help us count down the Sundays to Christmas.

Key Stage 1 take part in an Epiphany Trail, following the star around the church. At Easter we do a Palm Sunday Trail and make an Easter Garden.

We love joining in with Open the Book stories. Here is a photo of some of the OtB Team having a quick rehearsal in the church before coming into school:
